The Mac app

Klickity uses macOS Input Monitoring permission to receive key press and release events and play sounds. It processes key codes, press and release state, repeat information, and timing locally. It does not reconstruct words or sentences, save a transcript, or transmit your typing.

The app does not require an account and has no advertising, third-party analytics, or cloud sync. App preferences are stored locally on your Mac. macOS manages Input Monitoring permission and the optional Launch at Login setting.

The app can write local diagnostic information through macOS logging, including audio errors, broad key categories, press or release state, and event-to-audio timing. These diagnostics do not contain typed words or sentences. Klickity does not upload them automatically. macOS controls how system logs are retained.

The website

Text entered in the demo stays in the page’s memory so it can appear on screen. It is not sent to a server or saved in browser storage, and reloading the page clears it.

Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It may collect page visits, session statistics, approximate location, browser and device information, and basic interactions such as scrolling or following an external link. Klickity does not send Google the text entered in the demo, individual key presses, or sound-profile choices.

Analytics may use cookies to recognize browsers and sessions. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Your consent choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts this website and may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested files, and request times to deliver and secure it. If you allow Analytics, Google processes the website analytics described above.

If you obtain Klickity through the App Store, Apple handles your Apple Account, payment, and store activity. Learn more in the privacy policies for Cloudflare, Google, and Apple.

Your choices

You can disable sounds or quit Klickity at any time. To stop keyboard-event access, revoke Klickity’s permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring. Launch at Login can be managed through the app or macOS settings.

You can decline Analytics when first asked or change your choice through “Analytics choices” in the footer. Reload the page to clear the demo and use your browser settings to remove site data. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or otherwise control personal information held about you.

Contact and changes

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to respond and keep it only as long as needed for the request, related follow-up, and legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use support messages for advertising. Please avoid including sensitive text in screenshots or logs.

We will update this page and the date above when our practices change. Publisher and public contact details will be added before Klickity’s release.
