Klickity needs to know when a key is pressed and released so it can play sound while you type in any app. macOS controls this permission, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings.

No. Klickity processes key codes, press and release state, and timing locally. It does not reconstruct words, save a transcript, or send your typing anywhere. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Yes. Klickity works with built-in speakers, wired headphones, AirPods, and other Bluetooth audio devices. Bluetooth can add a noticeable delay of its own, so speakers or wired headphones will usually feel more immediate.

No. Klickity listens without changing or delaying your keystrokes, then schedules each sound alongside them. How quickly you hear the sound can still vary with your Mac and audio output, particularly over Bluetooth.

Check that Klickity is on, its volume is raised, your Mac is using the expected audio output, and Input Monitoring is granted. Klickity recovers automatically after most output changes; if it stays silent, turn its sounds off and on once.

Klickity detects changes such as connecting AirPods, waking your Mac, or switching speakers and rebuilds its audio connection automatically. Your selected profile, volume, and enabled state remain unchanged.

Letters, numbers, punctuation, arrows, the number pad, Space, Return, Delete, Tab, Escape, Shift, and other modifier keys are supported. macOS media keys are not delivered through the same keyboard event stream, so they do not receive Klickity sounds.
